Conditions of submissions and style

Information for authors

The Organizing and Scientific commitee invites authors to submit abstracts to be considered for inclussion in the Scientific Program for oral or poster presentations. Case reports must be submitted for poster presentation. Participants wishing to contribute to the Scientific Program are kindly requested to submit their abstract simultaneously with the registration form and the registration fee of at least one author (Presenting). The Organizing and Scientific committee will consider authors´ preferences about presentation but reserves the right to decide on the final form depending on organizing matters.

Submission deadline

Abstracts must be submitted on line using the abstract form, in English, before FEBRUARY the 10th 2009. The on line system will guide the authors step by step with the submission process.

Abstract format

  • Size: the abstract should not exceed 250 words.
  • Language: English.
  • Style (authomatic in online system):
    1. Title: Times New Roman 12, bold, capitals, no abreviations, 1,5 line space. (Example: RENDU OSLER WEBER)
    2. Authors: Times New Roman 12, bold, 1,5 line space. (Example: J Pérez, S Martínez)
    3. Institutions: Times New Roman 10, bold, 1,5 line space.
    4. Text: Times New Roman 10, non bold, justified text, 1,0 line space. Only standard abreviations allowed.
    5. Figures and graphs must be in black ink.

Acknowledgement and notification.

The on line system will automatically confirm the correct reception of the abstract.

Acceptance/Rejection of Presentations

The Organizing and Scientific Commitee will review all submitted abstracts. Selected abstracts for both oral or poster communication and rejected ones will receive notification regarding their presentation by February 28th.

  1. Oral presentations: All authors will be informed of details concerning their exact time of presentation. The scheduled time will be 8 minutes for former presentation plus 2 minutes discussion. The presenting author will receive a sound signal after 7 minutes to remind finishing time. All congress halls will be equiped with data video projector for Power Point Presentations. A PC reception desk for acceptance and checking on PC disks/USB dispositives with the presentations will be located in the permanent secretariat. All PC presentations must be named with the author, and number given by the organizing commitee. Speakers are kindly requested to hand out their PC disks with presentations at registration time (if that circumstance is not possible, at least two hours prior to presentation). All PC presentations will be under the Organizing Committee protection and deleted from computer data base after communication. If nomination for Best Junior Oral Communication Award is desired, it must be marked in the abstract submission form.
  2. Poster presentations: Posters will be numbered and listed according to the Organizing Committee instructions. Time of exposure and removal, and time for jury evaluation will be communicated individually. Posters size:MAXIMUM WIDTH: 90 cms, MAXIMUM HEIGHT: 120 CMS. Material for fixation will be provided by the organization. If nomination for Best Junior Poster Communication Award is desired, it must be marked in the abstract submission form.
